Consider taking some time out from your busy schedule to be with the other disciples of Wyoming for special Soup Supper and Communion Service this Maundy Thursday.
Maundy Thursday is the night three days before Easter when we remember the Last Supper of Jesus and his disciples. They met in the upper room to eat a traditional Passover meal which included bread and wine and various foods including several vegetables that symbolized the many saving acts of God in the lives of the Hebrew people. On this last night together, Jesus added words to the traditional prayers that changed the meaning of their fellowship meal forever. Two-thousand years later, every communion Sunday, we still say those words and eat that meal that for Christians is our remembrance of Christ’s saving sacrifice for us and our celebration of Christ’s triumph over sin and death.
Join us at 5:30 PM on Maundy Thursday, April 17th, as we participate in our traditional Soup Supper. Supper will be followed by Communion in the Sanctuary.
Anyone can come and you don’t need to bring anything, but we do need people to provide the meal. If you can bring ONE crockpot of soup, enough to serve 10 or more people, to the church on Thursday, April 17th, at 5:15 p.m., and stay for this celebration, please sign up right here:
